Aerotek is Hiring Flaggers in Carnegie, South Side, Bethel Park, Brentwood, Dormont

WEEKLY PAY M-F $19/HR!

40-50 hours a week

 

Responsibilities

  • Direct and control traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and radios to maintain safe and orderly movement through work zones.
  • Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades in accordance with company procedures and state standards.
  • Monitor road and worksite conditions throughout the shift and adjust traffic control patterns as needed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with crew members, supervisors, and the public to coordinate safe operations and minimize disruptions.
  • Use the designated mobile app to receive daily dispatch information and report to assigned work locations within approximately a one‑hour radius of the central shop.
  • Attend and complete a 3–4 hour traffic control training course prior to orientation, following the instructions provided via email.

Essential Skills

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to orientation and daily work assignments.
  • Ability to work 100% outdoors on active construction sites in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting 30–50 lbs as needed for setting up and removing traffic control devices.
  • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional when dealing with the public and in fast‑changing environments.
  • Traffic control or flagging certification (such as ATSSA) or willingness to obtain one prior to or during employment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior flagging, traffic control, or construction experience is a plus but not required.
  • Possession of a current ATSSA or equivalent flagging certification is highly desirable and may allow you to bypass the 3–4 hour training course.
  • Experience working on roadway, utility, or general labor projects is beneficial.
  • Steel toe or composite toe boots that extend above the ankle are required before going into the field.
