Job Summary:

FJCABI is seeking an individual to perform A&P/IA Duties at our maintenance facility

located at Abilene Regional Airport. The person chosen for this position will join a team

of experienced A&P Mechanics conducting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

for both general and commercial aviation customers. The successful candidate will be

responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, repairs, and alterations on a

variety of general aviation aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and company

procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of aircraft systems, excellent

troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety

Requirements:

Requirements Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections (annual, 100-hour, progressive, etc.), repairs, and alterations on airframes, engines (piston and turbine), propellers, and aircraft components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system malfunctions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), manufacturers manuals, service bulletins, and company policies and procedures.
  • Accurately document all work performed, including parts used, discrepancies found, and corrective actions taken, in aircraft logbooks and maintenance records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Assist with aircraft movement and ground handling as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with pilots, customers, and other maintenance personnel regarding aircraft status and maintenance findings.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and practices.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate.
  • Inspection Authorization required
  • Must have own tools
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as an A&P mechanic, in general aviation is strongly desired - including:

o PT6 experience

o King Air experience

o Familiarity with FARs, aircraft inspection and repair requirements.

  • Computer skills required
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including airframe structures, engines, propellers, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, landing gear, and environmental control systems.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • This position requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
