What is the opportunity?

As a Fixed Income Trader for RBC's Global Asset Management (GAM) business you will provide trading support to the fixed income group. Your role will be primarily responsible for supporting our cash management and short-term trading in a manner that supports our investment process and improves portfolio management and trade execution.

What will you do?

  • Execute short-term fixed income trades such as repo, treasuries, agencies, CP and corporate bonds
  • Engage with counterparties, share market related color, trading priorities, and views to identify market opportunities and to improve trade execution
  • Interact with Client Portfolio Management group regarding client and portfolio needs and execute to meet those objectives

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, economics, business or a related field of study
  • 1-2 years of related fixed income trading experience
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects on an ongoing basis in a fast-paced ever changing work environment
  • Effective problem identification, analytical and resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in Excel, and an ability to learn and apply new software programs (Bloomberg, Charles River, etc.)

The expected salary range for this particular position is $55,000-$95,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
