Piper Sandler is currently seeking interns for our Fixed Income Services business line for Summer 2027 in Minneapolis, MN. Learn more about our fixed income teamhere.

The Fixed Income Internship Program is a 10-week program where you will learn about Fixed Income from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to work with professionals in all areas of Fixed Income that include Municipal Underwriting and Trading, Credit Trading, Fixed Income Strategy & Analytics, Treasury Trading, Agency Underwriting and Trading, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Public Finance Investment Banking, Fixed Income Sales, High Yield Special Situations, Risk Management and various support groups.

The first week you will be introduced to Piper Sandler's businesses and learn about the business as a whole. During the 10 weeks, you will attend Senior Management speaker series, desk teach-ins, engage in a community service project, presentation skills training, performance review and partake in a final project with fellow interns.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop an understanding of our client verticals and how they interact with various fixed income products

  • Support financial strategies team with a variety of assigned projects

  • Utilize back-office system, working with support groups

  • Support sales team, learn how we sell products to the buyside

  • Assist trading and underwriting teams, supporting all aspects of the new issue and secondary market process

  • Assist with publications of weekly commentary

Requirements:

  • This internship opportunity is open to rising juniors & rising seniors who have a GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Interest in Finance but a major in Finance is not a requirement for employment

  • While no prior knowledge of finance or sales & trading is required, you should possess a keen interest in the financial markets

  • Prepare for and take the SIE exam per guidelines

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Comfortable knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Tableau

  • Detail oriented, strong work ethic, possess leadership skills but also enjoy working on a team

  • Participate in Capstone Project/Final Presentation

The anticipated pay range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $21-30 per hour.
