About this role:

The Fixed Income Strategies Team is searching for a Portfolio Manager - Municipal Fixed Income (Senior Wealth Investment Portfolio Manager).

The Fixed Income Strategies Team (FIST) is part of the Wells Fargo Investment Institute (WFII) and provides fixed income investment management designed to generate income and long term capital growth. Our team specializes in meeting the unique needs of High-net-worth individuals and institutional-style investors through fully discretionary actively managed fixed income portfolios. The FIST team provides taxable, tax advantaged, SMA strategies with a focus on investment grade securities across most asset classes / sectors and across the yield curve.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a large book of fixed income portfolios on behalf of High-net-worth clients, trusts, and institutions

  • Implement tax sensitive income strategies, with somewhat broad investment authority and act independently within the established VIG (Verification of Investment Guidelines)

  • Lead team strategy calls and execute strategic and tactical positioning in accordance with strategy team allocations

  • Communicate the Fixed Income Strategies Teams current strategy and deliver market updates to the broader Wealth Investment Management (WIM) community

  • Participate in fixed income outreach to internal partners

  • Provide on-going support to generalist advisor partners in their knowledge, awareness, and implementation of fixed income management

  • Work with Client Relationship Group (CRG) partners to provide ongoing service to existing clients


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Wealth Investment Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 65 exam to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents, such as active Chartered Financial Analyst designation)

  • Municipal fixed income trading, research or portfolio management experience

  • Municipal Cash Management experience a plus

  • Proven ability to generate strong investment performance and deliver business growth strategies

  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and or BondEdge

  • Knowledge of coding languages (VBA, Python, R, SQL)


Job Expectations:

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. Registration for FINRA Series 65 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
