Job Description
The Opportunity
As Director, Asset Allocation, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping multi-asset investment insights and portfolio guidance across the organization. Working closely with the Global Asset Allocation Committee, you will influence strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions, capital market assumptions, and portfolio construction frameworks that support diverse investor goals. This role offers significant visibility across investment, planning, retirement, and platform teams while providing opportunities to advance innovative research and strengthen thought leadership. You will help drive business success by transforming complex market intelligence into actionable investment strategies and solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead firm-wide asset allocation thought leadership in partnership with the Vice President, Asset Allocation and the Global Asset Allocation Committee.
  • Develop and enhance strategic and tactical asset allocation solutions supporting accumulation, decumulation, retirement income, and specialized investor objectives.
  • Collaborate with investment, financial planning, retirement, policy, and platform teams to align guidance, tools, and recommendations with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Synthesize equity, fixed income, alternatives, and economic research into actionable portfolio construction insights, capital market assumptions, and asset allocation recommendations.
  • Advance quantitative frameworks supporting risk and return forecasting, correlation modeling, scenario analysis, stress testing, and portfolio construction decision-making.
  • Lead strategic projects that expand research capabilities, strengthen investment knowledge, and increase the influence of asset allocation guidance across the organization.
  • Support publications, presentations, advisor engagement, client requests, and thought leadership initiatives through high-quality analysis and communication.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in investment research, portfolio management, investment strategy, asset allocation, or a closely related field, with extensive cross-asset class expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), or similar credential preferred.
  • Active Series 7 registration, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Active State securities agent registration (S63 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Active State IAR registration (S65 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Strong market and economic analysis capabilities with advanced quantitative, modeling, and portfolio construction expertise.
  • Proficiency with investment research and analytics platforms such as Bloomberg and/or FactSet preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive strategic outcomes across the organization.

In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders - clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $140,200 - $192,800 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
