Job Description Summary

Reams Asset Management ("Reams"), an affiliate of Raymond James Investment Management, is a fixed income investment management firm located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Since its establishment in 1981, Reams has grown to manage over $23 billion in a variety of fixed income strategies for a diverse group of institutional clients, including Fortune 500 corporations, large public pension funds, Taft-Hartley plans, health care organizations, and a variety of universities, foundations and endowments. Reams employs 40 individuals with a mission to provide the highest quality investment management expertise and unmatched client service in all product areas over the long-term.
We currently have an opportunity in our Investment Operations Department for a Senior Analyst. This role will support reconciliation, cash oversight, payment research, and claims management for client accounts with a strong focus on fixed income structured securities and derivatives. This position will handle day-to-day resolution of complex problems and will be involved in process improvement projects.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day resolution of complex investment accounting problems and transaction processing and is responsible for the client portfolio reconciliation processes.

  • Lead daily transaction and cash reconciliations across internal systems, custodians, and counterparties
  • Reconcile fixed income and derivatives instruments, including swaps, swaptions, futures, and FX
  • Investigate and resolve complex reconciliation breaks related to principal and interest payments, lifecycle events, accruals, settlements, and corporate actions
  • Perform root-cause analysis and escalate unresolved issues with clear documentation and recommendations
  • Manage end-to-end structured security claims related to principal and interest payments, including preparation, documentation, submission, and tracking
  • Resolve issues quickly with a sense of urgency
  • Provide clear proactive communication on outstanding issues and resolutions
  • Identify process control opportunities and recommend improvements
  • Lead small to medium sized projects with varied levels of complexity
  • Act as a senior operations point of contact for internal teams, custodians, and counterparties
  • Support escalation management and knowledge sharing with the Operations team
  • Balance conflicting resource and priority demands

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise
