JOB SUMMARY
The Fitness Manager (FM) is responsible for the growth of fitness revenue, achieving fitness revenue and profit budgets at their club. The FM leads by example with personal sales of fitness products and develops all team members at the club to effectively communicate and build value in fitness programs and services to guests and members. FM is also responsible for hiring and developing coaches to effectively gain, train and retain both personal training and group training clients. Through ensuring all clients are actively training with updated client management processes the FM will ensure the quality of all fitness offerings are met to provide exceptional client experience and results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Revenue and Sales Generation
  • Grow fitness revenue by effectively gaining, training and retaining personal training and group training clients personally as well as through the club staff, in particular the personal trainers and sales team
  • Directly sell personal and group training packages, and lead team members in sales with all fitness offerings to achieve club sales and revenue goals. Continuously TO guest tours and Custom Coaching Sessions to achieve attachment and enrollment standards.
  • Ensure that client retention standards are met to ensure revenue growth
  • Meet and exceed all fitness revenue and sales targets
  • Work with General Manager and SSM to train and develop all team members to effectively present fitness programs to guests/members and TO the fitness team on guest tours
  • Train personal trainers on how to effectively prospect for new clients, conduct custom coaching sessions and acquire new clients.
  • Manage sales funnel of both potential clients and past clients through email, phone calls and in club engagement
  • Schedule, create and run marketing activities inside and outside of the club to engage member base with fitness and prospect for new clients

Staffing and Development
  • Continuously recruit, interview and hire personal trainers and small group trainers to meet fitness equation needs of the club and ensure all clients are properly serviced
  • Train and onboard new fitness coaches following company guidelines and protocols ensuring all coaches meet their session ramp milestones and productivity standards
  • Provide training and development to ensure all trainers successfully pass CCS evaluations
  • Perform session quality reviews for personal trainers to provide feedback on personal training sessions ensuring clients have exceptional experiences with the fitness team
  • Foster an environment of continuous development for coaches by hosting monthly trainer meetings and utilizing tools such as Club Connect
  • Train all sales team staff to understand all fitness offerings and the benefits of working with a coach through the four pillars of fitness

Fitness Business Management
  • Ensure all new clients meet activation, completion and resign company standards
  • Assign new clients are appropriately assigned to trainers and activated
  • Regularly audit active client lists to ensure clients are actively using session inventory and engaged with their fitness program
  • Conduct weekly one on ones and monthly Trainer Business Plans with all personal trainers to ensure trainers are meetings their sessions, sales, revenue, resign and productivity requirements
  • Review all trainer schedules to update sessions, availability and set productive non session hours activities for all fitness staff
  • Audit time and labor management
  • Audit and provide feedback on client folders (Including measurement logs, workout logs, Personal Workout Planners to ensure client service expectations are met
  • May service personal training sessions, or teach group training classes where there is business need. Not to exceed 5% of weekly hours worked.
  • Manage Group Training schedules ensuring company guidelines for scheduling, participation and class quality are met
  • Ensure all sessions are properly consumed managing session escalations
  • Oversee payment processing and refund management
  • Acts as manager-on-duty at times to support resolution of member concerns.
  • Complete other duties as assigned
