What is a Fit Model's job?

A fit model is a person hired by fashion brands and designers to test the fit, size, and drape of clothing during the design and production process. Unlike fashion models, fit models are chosen based on specific body measurements to ensure consistency in clothing sizing. They provide feedback on comfort, mobility, and overall fit to help refine garment designs before mass production. Fit models typically work behind the scenes and collaborate closely with designers, pattern makers, and manufacturers.

What does a typical day look like for a Fit Model working with a fashion brand or design team?

A typical day for a Fit Model involves attending multiple fitting sessions where designers and technical teams fit sample garments on your body to evaluate sizing, proportion, and comfort. You will stand, move, and pose in various outfits while giving clear feedback about how the clothing feels and fits. Collaboration is key, as you often work closely with designers, pattern makers, and product developers to help improve overall garment construction. The work environment is usually professional, with a focus on teamwork and attention to detail to ensure the final product meets the highest standards. Being adaptable and prepared for repeated fittings, sometimes with tight deadlines, is important for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Fit Models position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fit Model, candidates must maintain specific body measurements, have good posture, and understand garment fitting, often meeting industry-standard size requirements. Familiarity with basic garment construction and measurement tools, such as tape measures and fit forms, is helpful though not always mandatory. Flexibility, professionalism, and effective verbal communication are crucial soft skills for supporting design teams and giving constructive feedback. These skills ensure that clothing lines achieve proper fit and appearance, directly impacting product quality and customer satisfaction.

At Mobility Fit, pelvic health is treated as part of the whole person. You will work with patients who want to move better, train smarter, recover fully, and understand their bodies in a way that supports long-term function. Your care may include pelvic floor assessment and treatment, but it will also connect the dots between breath, core, hips, spine, pressure management, strength, mobility, pain science, lifestyle factors, and return to activity.

This is an opportunity for a pelvic health PT who wants to do more than provide excellent care in a private room. It is for a clinician who wants to practice at the intersection of pelvic health, orthopedic reasoning, movement, performance, education, and real-life outcomes.

Our pelvic health patients are not just looking for temporary relief. They are looking for a clinician who can help them understand what is happening, build a plan, and return to life with confidence.

You will be part of a team that values clinical excellence, hands-on care, thoughtful exercise prescription, movement assessment, autonomy, and collaboration. We are not looking for someone to simply "cover pelvic health." We are looking for someone who is excited to help grow and elevate it.

  • A structured schedule with protected documentation timeFull-time therapists have built-in documentation time Monday through Thursday, helping support timely notes and thoughtful patient care within a busy outpatient schedule.

  • A team that respects advanced clinical skillYou will be surrounded by clinicians who value manual therapy, movement assessment, individualized programming, education, and progressive exercise.

That mindset matters in pelvic health, where patients need clinical excellence, trust, and a provider who sees the full picture.
