POSITON OVERVIEW

The Inbound Receiving Lead is responsible for leading daily inbound operations within a fast-paced fulfillment center environment. This role oversees the receiving team, coordinates trailer flow, ensures product is received accurately into our warehouse management system, and supports timely movement of inventory to storage or forward pick locations. The Receiving Lead helps drive safety, accuracy, productivity, and workflow execution while serving as the first point of support for receiving associates.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

· Lead daily receiving operations for inbound freight within the fulfillment center.

· Coordinate unloading, breakdown, inspection, and system receipt of inbound product.

· Assign work to receiving associates based on inbound volume, dock activity, and business priorities.

· Identify and escalate shortages, overages, damages, vendor compliance issues.

· Ensure product is accurately received in the WMS.

· Support labor planning and help balance staffing throughout the shift.

· Train, coach, and develop associates on receiving procedures, equipment use, quality checks, and safety practices.

· Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receiving controls and transaction discipline.

· Track daily performance metrics including volume received, UPH, receiving accuracy.

· Perform system research and help resolve receiving discrepancies and inventory issues.

· Ensure receiving areas, docks, staging lanes, and workstations remain clean, organized, and audit-ready.

· Support process improvement initiatives to improve inbound flow, quality, and labor efficiency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

· Two or more years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment center environment preferred.

· Experience in inbound, receiving, inventory control, or dock operations is required.

· Previous lead or team coordinator experience is a plus.

· Experience using WMS, RF scanners, and basic computer systems required.

· Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and inventory information accurately.

· Strong attention to detail, follow-up, and problem-solving ability.

· Strong communication and leadership skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack) preferred.
