Job description

SLP / Speech Language Pathologist

Ignite Connections and Foster Communication in Energetic San Diego – Your New Journey as a Speech Language Pathologist Awaits

Imagine a career where every word you inspire ignites connections and builds bridges between people. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the beautiful coastal city of San Diego, you will not only tackle communication and swallowing disorders but also empower individuals to unlock their true potential and reclaim their confidence. Your influence will reach every corner of community life — from toddlers experimenting with their first syllables to older adults rediscovering their voices.

This exciting role offers you the chance to work with diverse populations spanning all ages in a dynamic environment that combines outpatient therapy with occasional support for inpatient cases. Whether your passion lies in nurturing speech in the pediatric young ones, addressing neurogenic disorders in adults, or aiding seniors in cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you'll find meaningful and flexible opportunities here.

Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across all age groups using standardized assessments combined with observational insights.
  • Design tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver focused, individual speech therapy interventions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Engage in collaborative care with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop cohesive treatment strategies.
  • Educate patients and families on ways to support progress between therapy sessions.
  • Take part in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
  • Document all interactions and treatment plans meticulously according to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to ongoing learning and remain informed about advancements in the field through continuing education.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hiring.

Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based approaches to treatment across all age groups, with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering strong connections with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adjust therapy strategies to accommodate diverse linguistic and cultural needs.
  • Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records and compliance with documentation protocols.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible scheduling that promotes work-life balance and varied caseloads.
  • Opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or geriatric services.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay included.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans available.
  • Continuing education support and reimbursement for professional growth.
  • Collaborative, supportive environment dedicated to quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career That Takes Flight — And Brings Others Along with It

In joining our team, you'll do more than provide speech therapy — you'll contribute to a mission where communication is cherished, connections are nurtured, and every interaction brings moments of understanding and joy.

You'll collaborate with clinicians who share a familial bond, in an environment that fosters teamwork over competition. Together, we'll embark on personal journeys as much as professional ones, weaving the stories of those we help narrate.

Why You'll Adore Your Life Here

Life in San Diego is a blend of perfect weather and vibrant culture, where outdoor opportunities abound and creativity flourishes. This city, cherished for its stunning beaches and welcoming community, provides an ideal backdrop for relaxation and adventure alike.

Families can be found enjoying leisurely days in scenic parks, surfing at iconic beaches, or indulging in fresh fish tacos from local vendors. Art aficionados will appreciate the murals and galleries that color the city, while music lovers revel in the sounds of local bands performing at lively venues.

Here, you'll encounter thriving job prospects in a rapidly growing healthcare landscape, surrounded by a relatively low cost of living and the absence of state income tax — making your professional ambitions more attainable. Whether you're a newcomer to the field or a seasoned expert, San Diego offers the room to expand and grow your career while soaking in the sunshine.

Who We're Seeking

We're in search of a Speech Language Pathologist who embodies not just skill but compassion. Someone who sees possibility in every interaction, yearning to see blossoming communication where there was once silence, and resilience where fears lingered.

You might be an expert in pediatrics eager to transition into adult care — or perhaps a clinician with a passion for neuro rehabilitation who wishes to bring early intervention into the fold.

If you are driven to serve with heart and guide with expertise, we look forward to welcoming you into our family.

Crafting Meaningful Connections — Together

If your vision of speech therapy encompasses more than just sound production, if you believe it's about forging trust and acknowledging laughter alongside language, then this opportunity may resonate with your aspirations.

Join us in a community that values understanding, connection, and the courage to start anew. Apply today to lend your voice to our mission — and help others discover their own.
