Job Summary
The Purchasing/Receiving Warehouse Clerk supports resort operations by ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of goods and supplies. This role works closely with purchasing, culinary, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure operational efficiency. Success in this position is demonstrated through strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to receiving and inventory procedures. The position plays a critical role in maintaining cost control, product quality, and overall guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role. Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy and quality. Records all received goods in inventory systems and maintains accurate documentation of deliveries. Stores products in designated areas, following proper organization, rotation (FIFO), and safety standards. Communicates discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Purchasing Manager or appropriate department in a timely manner. Distributes goods and supplies to various resort departments efficiently and accurately. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, receiving dock, and storage areas. Assists with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation processes as required. Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and resort policies and procedures. Supports purchasing functions by assisting with order tracking and vendor coordination as needed. Demonstrates professionalism and effective communication when interacting with team members and vendors. Utilizes basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email, for recordkeeping, reporting, and label creation. Conducts periodic inventory counts, including expiration date checks and physical inventories, to ensure accuracy. Exemplifies the Tides Inn Mission and Values.

Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in warehouse, receiving, purchasing, or inventory control in a hospitality or resort environment preferred. Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, basic math and data entry skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certifications: Licenses: Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Warehouse, receiving dock, storage areas, and occasional outdoor exposure at loading/unloading zones; may include temperature variations (heat, cold, humidity). Equipment Used: Computer, inventory management systems, handheld scanners, phone, copy machine, pallet jack, forklift (if certified), carts, and basic warehouse tools. Sitting: 10% Standing: 50% Walking / Bending: 40% Lifting – up to: 50 pounds regularly; ability to lift heavier items with assistance or equipment. Vision: Close vision for data entry and inventory systems; distance vision for safe navigation of warehouse and dock areas; ability to identify product labels and safety hazards. Hearing: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and drivers; ability to hear equipment operation and safety signals. Travel Expectations: No travel required for this role. Driving Requirements: May operate golf carts or company vehicles for on-property transport of goods; Motor Vehicle Record monitoring may be required. Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, handle frequent lifting, and maintain physical stamina throughout the shift. Must be able to safely operate equipment and follow all safety procedures.
