Summary:
The Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation (FCSF) has reached a defining inflection point in its growth and impact. Over the past 15 years, FCSF has operated as a statewide philanthropic organization, delivering financial relief, wellness initiatives, and community engagement. As the Foundation looks ahead, it seeks to expand its reach, strengthen its infrastructure, and build long-term sustainability while remaining deeply grounded in its mission.
To lead this next chapter, the Foundation is recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to serve as the senior executive leader, accountable for strategy, growth, operations, fundraising, and external leadership. The CEO will work in close partnership with the Board of Directors to scale impact, elevate visibility, and ensure operational excellence.
The new CEO role is the opportunity to join a transformative nonprofit organization, dedicated to advancing patient advocacy and innovative solutions. This role will lead and create a dynamic team committed to making a significant impact in the nonprofit sector, driving both revenue growth and philanthropic success.
The CEO will be at the helm of the organization, steering strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial sustainability. This leadership will shape the organization's future, foster innovation, and strengthen stakeholder relationships to further FCFS's mission.
The new FCSF CEO will be a visionary leader with a passion for healthcare and nonprofit excellence, driving our mission forward.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the organization's strategic planning and execution to achieve long-term goals
  • Drive revenue growth through innovative fundraising strategies, including major gifts
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors and partners

  • Oversee fiscal management to ensure organizational health and sustainability
  • Champion patient advocacy initiatives, representing the organization in the healthcare community
  • Ensure adherence to governance best practices, maintaining transparency and accountability
  • Inspire and manage a high-performing leadership team to deliver on strategic objectives
  • Identify opportunities for innovation to enhance service delivery and organizational impact

Qualifications & Experience
Education
• Bachelor's degree required in business administration, nonprofit management, public administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
• Master's degree strongly preferred (MBA, MPA, MPH, or equivalent advanced degree).
• Ongoing executive, leadership development and/or relevant certifications in nonprofit management or fundraising are a plus
Executive Leadership Experience
• Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive professional experience, including at least 7-10 years in a senior executive role such as CEO, President, Executive Director, COO, or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience leading a growing nonprofit, foundation, or mission-driven organization through periods of expansion and change
• Proven ability to serve as the primary executive leader accountable to a Board of Directors
• Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and financial plans
Fundraising & Revenue Growth
• Extensive experience in major gifts fundraising and donor relationship management, including high-net-worth individuals and institutional partners
• Demonstrated success scaling philanthropic revenue beyond event-based fundraising models
• Comfort serving as a visible and credible representative of the organization in donor-facing settings
Strategic, Operational & Governance Leadership
• Experience translating long-term vision into actionable strategic plans with measurable outcomes
• Leadership and management experience across operations, finance, budgeting, staffing, and performance management. This includes building and motivating a high-performance team
• Experience with patient advocacy initiatives
• Strong partnership experience with engaged Boards, supporting governance while maintaining clear management accountability
Healthcare or Human Services Context (Preferred)
• Background in healthcare, cancer care, patient advocacy, or human services strongly preferred
• Understanding of the sensitivity and complexity of serving patients and families during serious illness
• Experience with highest integrity governance and compliance
Leadership & Personal Attributes
• High integrity, sound judgment, and strong emotional intelligence
• Collaborative leadership style paired with decisiveness and accountability
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and executive presence
