What is a first tech?

First Tech jobs typically refer to entry-level positions in the technology industry, such as help desk support, junior software developer, IT technician, or technical support specialist. These roles are ideal for individuals who are starting their careers in tech and may require basic knowledge of computer systems, software, and troubleshooting. First Tech jobs provide valuable experience, opportunities for learning, and a pathway to more advanced roles in information technology or software development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a first tech support specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a First Tech Support Specialist, you need solid troubleshooting abilities, technical knowledge of hardware and software, and typically a background in IT or computer science. Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and diagnostic platforms—such as ServiceNow or Zendesk—is commonly required. Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills help you effectively assist users and manage stressful situations. These abilities are crucial for quickly resolving technical issues, ensuring user satisfaction, and maintaining efficient IT operations.

What are some common challenges faced by first tech professionals in adapting to rapidly evolving technology trends?

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Position Overview

The Chief Technology Officer will serve as the executive leader responsible for defining and executing the company’s global technology vision. This leader will align enterprise architecture, digital commerce, data strategy, and infrastructure to support aggressive revenue growth, operational excellence, and international scale.

The CTO will partner closely with Operations, Finance, Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure technology enables speed-to-market, margin optimization, and best-in-class client experience.

This role reports directly to the CEO and serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Technology Strategy

  • Define and execute a multi-year enterprise technology roadmap aligned with global growth objectives.

  • Modernize and scale enterprise systems across supply chain, sourcing, procurement, logistics, and e-commerce.

  • Evaluate and evolve architecture to ensure scalability, security, resilience, and performance.

  • Establish governance across architecture, security, data, and application lifecycle management.

  • Drive a cloud-first, integration-first strategy leveraging AWS and Boomi.

  • Lead strategy and optimization of Adobe Magento and associated digital commerce infrastructure.

  • Improve global e-commerce performance, personalization, configurability, and transaction scalability.

  • Enable seamless integration between commerce, ERP, sourcing, logistics, and fulfillment systems.

  • Partner with commercial leadership to enhance customer-facing digital capabilities.

Enterprise Architecture & Integration

  • Standardize integration patterns across Boomi and internal systems.

  • Reduce technical debt while building scalable architecture for future growth.

  • Drive API-first, event-driven architecture where appropriate.

Data, Analytics & Operational Intelligence

  • Establish a unified enterprise data strategy across Oracle and cloud environments.

  • Enable real-time supply chain visibility and performance analytics.

  • Develop executive dashboards supporting cost optimization, margin performance, vendor analytics, and operational KPIs.

  • Ensure data governance, compliance, and cybersecurity standards.

Infrastructure, Security & Compliance

  • Oversee AWS infrastructure strategy and cost optimization.

  • Ensure enterprise-grade cybersecurity posture and risk mitigation.

  • Implement scalable DevOps and CI/CD frameworks.

  • Maintain compliance across global regulatory environments.

Organizational Leadership & Talent Strategy

  • Build and lead a high-performing global technology organization.

  • Develop succession planning, leadership capability, and technical depth.

  • Introduce performance metrics and operational rigor across engineering and IT functions.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment between technology and business units.

Transformation & Change Leadership

  • Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.

  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions across enterprise platforms.

  • Introduce automation, AI enablement, and process optimization across supply chain and commerce workflows.

  • Champion technology as a strategic growth lever, not just a support function.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a technology executive who has led enterprise-scale systems in complex, operationally intensive environments.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years in progressive technology leadership roles.

  • Experience leading enterprise applications at global scale.

  • Strong background in .NET/C# ecosystems.

  • Deep familiarity with cloud architecture (AWS).

  • Experience integrating enterprise systems using middleware platforms (Boomi preferred).

  • Experience with ERP, supply chain, procurement, or global sourcing systems.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar).

  • Experience leading digital commerce platforms (Magento or similar).

Preferred Background

  • Experience in supply chain–heavy industries (retail, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, global merchandising).

  • Experience modernizing legacy enterprise environments.

  • P&L literacy and strong business acumen.

  • Experience leading teams across multiple geographies.

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategic Systems Thinker

  • Operationally Grounded
