Key responsibilities

  • Design and build highly scalable, fault-tolerant AWS-based systems to support rapid customer and data growth.

  • Implement AI-powered workflows to automate and optimise clinical data processing across thousands of healthcare providers.

  • Mentor and level up junior engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and hands-on technical leadership.

Job description

Senior Software Engineer โ€” AI Healthcare Platform

Location: New York City (hybrid, 4 days/week in-office) Type: Full-time Experience: 6+ years Visa sponsorship: Not available Openings: 4โ€“6 positions

The opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a Series A healthtech company that has built the first real-time AI medical review platform in the US โ€” already serving over 250,000 providers across all 50 states. Backed by First Round Capital, Left Lane Capital, and Menlo Ventures with $16M+ in funding, the company is scaling fast and needs senior engineering talent to match.

This is a high-impact role where you'll tackle complex, ambiguous engineering challenges that directly improve the quality and safety of patient care at scale. You'll join an 8-person NYC engineering team and report to the CTO.

What you'll be doing
  • Designing and building highly scalable, fault-tolerant AWS-based systems to support rapid customer and data growth
  • Implementing AI-powered workflows to automate and optimise clinical data processing across thousands of healthcare providers
  • Mentoring and levelling up junior engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and hands-on technical leadership
  • Working closely with product to translate business problems into simple, effective system designs

Tech stack

Python, TypeScript, AWS (RDS, S3, ECS)

Who you are
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, ideally at a scaling B2B startup
  • Proven track record solving hard infrastructure or systems problems at scale
  • Experience (or strong interest) in healthcare, compliance, or regulated data environments
  • A communicator who can bridge technical and business thinking โ€” you understand why the product decisions matter, not just how to build them
  • A natural mentor: you raise the bar for the engineers around you
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and frequent change; you thrive when the path isn't fully defined

The company

Founded in 2021, this company's mission is to improve the standard of care across the US healthcare system. Their AI platform helps providers deliver safer, higher-quality care by catching clinical and compliance risks before they impact patients โ€” in real time.

The team has grown from one customer to over 100 in a short period. With a Series A closed and strong VC backing, a Series B is on the horizon. This is a chance to join before the next major growth inflection.

Benefits & culture
  • Competitive base + equity
  • Hybrid working โ€” 4 days in the NYC office (Chelsea), 1 day remote
  • High ownership culture: senior engineers are expected to lead, not just execute
  • Close collaboration with product, customer success, and the founding team
  • Fast-moving environment with real impact on patient outcomes across the US
