Job Title: Kitchen Aide
Summary: The Kitchen Aide provides support, under the direction of the Cook, in carrying out the full range of kitchen operations, which may include the transportation of meal service components, in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. The Kitchen Aide, in coordination with Health Program Services staff, provides nutrition services that are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate and that will support each child's growth and school readiness
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and work surfaces
  • Ensuring that the kitchen is properly stocked and organized
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies when needed
  • Assisting with plating and presentation of food
  • Following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • If transporting food to another location, record fuel and mileage, vehicle inspections, and report repairs to management as needed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Health Sanitation Certification (i.e., ServSafe) or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
  • First Aid and Adult/Child/Infant CPR or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
  • Prior experience working in commercial or retail food service and preparation is desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
