Amentum is supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in providing specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations under the Criminal Divisionโ€™s International Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP). https://www.justice.gov/criminal-icitap.

ICITAP is a cornerstone of Americaโ€™s global strategy for combating transnational crime, terrorism, countering trafficking in persons, establishing rule of law and enhancing human rights in developing countries. Amentumis the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.

Please Note: This is an Independent Contractor position with Amentum, it should not be considered an employment relationship with Amentum.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a global Forensic Digital Evidence Advisor. This position will serve as a subject matter expert in mobile digital and computer evidentiary analysis.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mentor Spanish-speaking host-country experts on training, techniques and procedures used in the collection, preservation, triage, examination, analysis, and court production of digital evidence.
  • Train and mentor host-country experts on understanding operating systems and the variety of evidence that may be recovered from phones, computers and other digital evidence.
  • Train and advise host country officials on the use, maintenance and testing of equipment tools used for the extraction and analysis as well as best practices for digital or computer evidence exploitation, analysis reports and chain of custody records management.
  • Advisor may be required to conduct advanced training related to conducting security assessments and link analysis.
  • Coordinate with other U.S. Government agencies and other governments and international donors providing law enforcement development assistance to the host nation agencies and work with these representatives to advance the goals and objectives of the program.
  • Duties may also include facilitating meetings; leading working groups; developing reports; reviewing policies; developing quality management systems; and conducting briefings.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of related digital evidence examination experience
  • Experience using a wide variety of extraction and analysis tools
  • Experience training other forensic examiners and first responders
  • Ability to write and speak in Spanish in professional settings
  • Clearable: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certification from a relevant body in the field of digital evidence
  • Experience supervising or managing digital evidence activities
  • Experience in QA/QC inspections and validation for forensic facilities or working in an ISO 17025 or 17020 accredited facility
  • Experience training or advising foreign officials.
