Job description

Overview: TechWise is supporting international students from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while studying aircraft maintenance in the United States.  We seek highly qualified Cultural Advisors (CA) to provide students advice, tutoring and mentorship.  The CA will work to increase program success rates through assisting students with language, customs, in-class comprehension, studies, and extra-curricular activities during a two-year US based education program.

Job Summary:  Our Cultural Advisor should be familiar with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member nations’ cultures, customs, and courtesies.   The advisor will work closely with the training institution staff, students and local community to help assimilate foreign students into a two-year training program. The advisor will work alongside students and instructors as required to enable success through transition periods and with materials that require a higher command of the English language.  Our CA will also be called upon to support and attend field trips to both local and out of area adventure and education activities.  The advisor will present materials in a classroom setting, provide tutor support, help design training material and may be required to work differential shifts or weekends, within a 40 hour week, to account for program needs.

Essential Functions:  The cultural advisors will be vocal advocates for the students, instructors and local community.  They will be able to sense and identify issues at the earliest possible time.  They will advocate on behalf of the students, community and program team to mitigate issues and provide for conflict resolution.
