The Logistics Operations & Transportation Analyst is responsible for supporting transportation, logistics, financial reporting, and operational processes across the supply chain organization. This role manages transportation-related reporting, carrier and freight invoice administration, vendor and carrier master data maintenance, logistics system access, carrier accounts receivable coordination, and issue resolution activities. The position serves as a key liaison between logistics providers, Customer Service, Finance, Procurement, and Warehouse Operations to ensure accurate reporting, cost control, and efficient transportation execution.
As a Transportation Reporting & Analytics, you will:
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain recurring transportation and logistics reports, including:
    • Monthly Freight Reclass Reports
    • Monthly Freight Accrual Reports
    • Transportation Dashboards
    • Monthly Carrier Accounts Receivable Reports
    • Freight claims processing and carrier follow-up management
  • Ensure accuracy, timely completion, and distribution of operational and financial reports.
  • Analyze logistics and transportation data to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support month-end and period-end financial reporting activities related to transportation costs and inventory movements.
  • Freight Audit, Payment & Carrier Management
    • Review, validate, and approve freight invoices through the Cass freight payment system.
    • Investigate and resolve freight audit discrepancies and carrier billing issues.
    • Coordinate carrier invoice rebills and corrections.
    • Manage freight payment exceptions and funding file issues.
    • Serve as a point of contact for transportation providers regarding billing, payment, and operational concerns.
    • Maintain carrier routing guides and transportation documentation.
    • Create and maintain carrier identification records and carrier master data.
  • Carrier Accounts Receivable & Carrier Relationship Management
    • Coordinate and participate in recurring open Accounts Receivable meetings with transportation providers, including parcel, freight forwarding, and logistics partners.
    • Monitor outstanding balances and support resolution of carrier billing disputes.
    • Collaborate with internal Finance and Logistics teams to improve payment accuracy and cycle times.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with carriers and logistics service providers.
  • Logistics Systems & Master Data Administration
    • Create and maintain vendor master records.
    • Manage carrier master data and transportation-related system setup.
    • Establish and administer shipping system access, including UPS CampusShip users.
    • Maintain branch and warehouse location records, transfers, and organizational changes within logistics systems.
    • Support transportation-related system updates and data integrity initiatives.
  • Inventory, Returns & Operational Support
    • Process and monitor dropship transactions.
    • Support Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) issue resolution with Customer Service and Finance teams.
    • Coordinate inventory-related transactions, including:
      • Returns and RMA adjustments
      • Bin transfers
      • Scrap transactions
      • NOR/NOI ticket processing
      • Subcontract-related logistics activities
    • Investigate operational discrepancies and drive timely resolution to minimize customer and business impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Customer Service, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehouse Operations, and Transportation providers to resolve issues and improve logistics performance.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation cost control, process efficiency, and data accuracy.
    • Provide training and knowledge transfer for logistics reporting, systems, and transportation processes.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation procedures.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight audit/payment, supply chain, or operations support.
  • Experience working with transportation management, ERP, or freight payment systems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate:
    • Microsoft Excel and reporting skills that include vlookups, formulas, trending, etc...
    • Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Communication and relationship management skills.
    • Focus on quality and accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
    • Experience in transportation accounting, accruals, and logistics financial reporting.
    • Understanding of parcel, LTL, and freight forwarding operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Cass Information Systems freight payment platform.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Continuous improvement or Lean process improvement experience.

The pay range for this position is $49,480 - $84,823 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
