EFCU is looking for a relationship-driven, community-focused professional to join our team as a Member Development Specialist for our Columbus Corporate Office.
Pay Range starting at $24.50 / hour. (may vary with experience)
In this role, you'll serve as a key ambassador in the communities we serve-building connections, creating opportunities, and helping more people benefit from the value of credit union membership.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Columbus, Ohio area. You'll spend most of your time out in the community (about 80%), with the remaining time working from our office.
Because this role is highly relationship-driven, local travel is required within our field of membership, along with occasional evenings or weekends to support community events and programs.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you'll focus on building relationships, creating meaningful connections, and driving membership growth. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Community & Member Development
  • Build relationships with schools, organizations, and individuals within our field of membership
  • Generate new membership opportunities through networking, referrals, presentations, and outreach

  • Recruit and support a network of "Education First Champions" within partner organizations
  • Collaborate internally to enhance the overall member experience and retention
  • Help resolve member concerns by partnering with internal teams

Growth & Strategy
  • Contribute to membership growth and engagement goals
  • Track outreach efforts, partnerships, and results to measure success
  • Analyze trends and help recommend strategies for future growth
  • Partner with Marketing to support campaigns and initiatives

Requirements
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field-or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, relationship management, or community outreach
  • Experience building relationships with schools, organizations, or community groups is a plus

Skills & Strengths:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools
  • Experience using systems to track relationships, opportunities, and outreach efforts
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • Confidence presenting to groups and leading educational sessions
  • Clear and professional communication-both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a goal-driven environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and take initiative

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single requirement. At Education First Credit Union, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you are excited about this role, but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every single qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may just be the right candidate for this or other roles.
Other:
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
  • Reliable transportation for attending offsite community and business development events. Drivers License required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
