Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

We are hiring a detail-oriented Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift to support manufacturing operations by ensuring products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards. This role works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Verification:
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished parts.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and CMM/vision systems (if applicable).
  • Verify parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) per internal procedures. 
  • Accurately document inspection results.

Nonconformance Identification & Documentation:
  • Identify defects, deviations, and nonconforming materials.
  • Initiate NCs and communicate quality concerns to leadership.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Segregate and properly label nonconforming product.

Quality System Support:
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and internal QMS procedures.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and used correctly.
  • Assist with audits, process verification, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support scrap reduction and defect prevention efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to prevent recurring defects.
  • Communicate inspection findings clearly across shifts.
  • Support operator training on quality standards and measurement techniques.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • 1-3 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and specifications.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and defect identification skills.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently during 2nd shift operations.

Preferred:
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar QMS frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CMMs, optical comparators, or vision systems.
  • Experience in machining, fabrication, assembly, or similar environments.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
