Associate Security Specialist I
Richardson, TX (Remote)
12 Months Contract
Part time role. 20 hrs/week

Max billable hours are 20 hours, and the candidate must be available during work hours, either first half or the second half of the day.
Job Summary:
An Associate Firewall Engineer is responsible for supporting the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of firewall and network security systems. This role works under senior security or network engineers to help protect an organizations network infrastructure from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in configuring, deploying, and maintaining firewall solutions
  • Monitor firewall logs and security alerts for suspicious activity
  • Help implement and maintain network security policies and rules
  • Support troubleshooting of firewall and connectivity issues
  • Perform routine firewall rule reviews and cleanupAssist with vulnerability assessments and security audits
  • Document firewall configurations, changes, and procedures
  • Collaborate with network, security, and IT teams
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and best practices
  • Support incident response activities as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
