Job description

Employment Opportunity for a Concrete & Masonry Estimator

A well-established concrete, masonry, and fireproofing contractor in the NYC area is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project specifications and drawings, performing material takeoffs, and preparing detailed cost estimates for upcoming projects. This is an in-person position and based in Nyack, NY or at our satellite office in Midtown Manhattan.


Responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to understand the requirements of each RFP.
  • Conduct accurate takeoffs and measurements to determine the quantity of materials needed for each project.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposal packages.
  • Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions
  • Participate in pre-bid walk-throughs.
  • Initiating and managing RFI's related to the bid process.
  • Requesting subcontractor pricing.
  • Conduct detailed material takeoffs for awarded jobs.
  • Assisting the project managers with addendum pricing.


Requirements

  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent.
  • Must have knowledge of concrete, masonry, and fireproofing.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Must have at least 3  years of experience in a similar role, or a recent Construction Management graduate.
  • Must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.


Salary Range: Salary range $125,000–$170,000 (Dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full time and in person position
