Firearms Sales & Operations Specialist
Position Summary
The Firearms Sales & Operations Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a secure, professional, and efficiently operated firearms retail environment. This position combines high-level firearms sales responsibilities with operational oversight, store security awareness, and independent decision-making.
Employees in this role are expected to actively drive firearm and accessory sales, maintain strong product knowledge, uphold all safety and compliance standards, and confidently manage store operations during solo coverage or leadership situations. This is a key-holder position requiring maturity, accountability, professionalism, and the ability to operate effectively in high-responsibility environments.
This role is ideal for individuals who are self-motivated, sales-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable balancing customer service with security awareness and operational responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
Sales & Customer Service
  • Meet or exceed established firearm and accessory sales expectations
  • Build strong customer relationships through professionalism, product knowledge, and consultative sales techniques
  • Assist customers in selecting firearms, optics, accessories, safes, ammunition, and related products
  • Recommend additional products and services to increase overall sales performance
  • Maintain knowledge of current firearm models, industry trends, state and federal regulations, and product features
  • Deliver a professional customer experience while handling sensitive or high-pressure situations appropriately
Store Operations
  • Open and close the store independently following company security procedures
  • Serve as a trusted key holder responsible for facility access and operational integrity
  • Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently
  • Complete all required documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain organized, clean, and professional sales floor and backroom areas
  • Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, stocked, tagged, and secured
  • Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, receiving shipments, and loss prevention efforts
Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Uphold all federal, state, and company firearm compliance standards
  • Monitor customer behavior and maintain awareness of suspicious activity
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding store safety and security concerns
  • Maintain a calm, professional demeanor during stressful or escalated situations
  • Follow all procedures regarding firearm handling, storage, transfers, and customer interactions
  • Ensure the store remains secure while operating independently or during low staffing periods
  • Protect confidential customer and company information
Leadership & Professional Expectations
  • Demonstrate initiative and operate with minimal supervision
  • Assist in maintaining professional workplace standards and team accountability
