Job description

Total Fire Protection is seeking Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices to join our team and contribute to the safety and protection of lives and property. As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice, you will be an integral part of our installation and maintenance team, learning the skills and techniques necessary to become a proficient Fire Sprinkler Fitter. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings (steel, CPVC, and copper pipe)
  • Participate in the assembly and installation of piping, fittings, and fixtures for fire protection systems
  • Work closely with experience Fire Sprinkler Fitters to understand system blueprints, specifications, and design plans.
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler system, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions or damage in fire sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, and other components.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire sprinkler systems.
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions or damage in fire sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, and other components.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure that all installations and repairs meet regulatory standards and comply with relevant codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.Coordinate with other construction professionals, including plumbers, electricians, and general contractors, to integrate fire sprinkler systems seamlessly into overall building plans.

Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and hand tools.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver license with a safe driving record required
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various physical conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
  • Must be safety conscious and comfortable working at high elevations, on ladders and/or powered lifts.
  • The work of a sprinkler fitter and/or helper in our organization is performed on new construction sites. The ability to withstand the environmental elements of high and low temperatures, rain, snow, etc. are essential as not all construction sites will be fully enclosed and or heated or cooled.
  • Must have a high degree of awareness and safety protocols.
