Job Description
The incumbent in this position directs all the Seminole Tribe of Florida's emergency services operations, staff and programs. The employee in this position is responsible for the planning, directing and controlling fire service functions within a broad policy guided by laws, codes, rules, regulations, records, related services and activities. The individual in this position is also responsible for fire prevention activities, proper fire training activities, command responsibilities and emergency medical services. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that the department strives to maintain the highest standards of service and assistance to the STOF community through programs that encourages all employees to keep positive public relations as a primary goal. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment under the general direction of the Executive Director. Performance is reviewed periodically through conferences, reports, and evaluation of results. Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science is required. A minimum of ten (10) years of fire/rescue service or emergency medical service experience with a minimum of seven (7) years in a progressive leadership/ management capacity including responsibility for overseeing fiscal management responsibilities, budget preparation, financial planning and management preferably in public sector environment is required. Florida certified Firefighter/Paramedic is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate proficiency in computer software. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. The incumbent must be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and locations and be able to work flexible work schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays.
