Position Overview:
As an outside fire alarm systems sales representative, you will be responsible for generating new installation projects for alarm systems through electrical contractors and end users. In addition to installation sales, you will be responsible for securing the monitoring/service contract following the installation. Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation:

Identify and qualify potential customers through carious channels, including cold calling, networking events, referrals, and online research.
  • Consultative Selling:

Conduct thorough needs assessments and site evaluations to understand customers fire protection requirements and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Solution Presentation:

Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals that showcase the benefits and features of our products.
  • Relationship Building:

Cultivate strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, property managers, and other key decision makers in the fire safety industry.
  • Quoting and Negotiation:

Prepare accurate and negotiate terms and pricing to secure profitable contracts while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Pipeline Management:

Maintain a well-organized sales pipeline, track sales activities, and provide regular updates to management on progress and forecasts.
  • Industry Knowledge:

Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in fire protection to effectively advise customers and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Customer Service:

Provide exceptional pre-sale support to customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth transition during system implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Team Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project managers, technicians, and customer service representatives, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Goal Achievement:

Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics set by management, demonstrating commitment to driving revenue growth and expanding Silco's market presence.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably in the fire protection and life safety systems industry.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with potential customers.
  • Technical aptitude and a keen interest in learning about fire alarm systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Self-motivated, results driven mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and willingness to travel locally as needed.

Benefits:
Compensation ranges based on experience, performance, and accumulation of projects and ranges from $90K to $170K.
