Job Overview
Jensen Hughes is seeking two Mid-level or Senior Fire Protection Engineer position in our Concord, CA office location. This strategic growth position calls for an experienced candidate who can work directly with clients and perform their own technical work ("Seller Doer"). Experience with sprinkler/fire alarm systems and/or hazardous materials is preferred.
Relocation assistance will be provided.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and implement a wide variety of consulting projects.
  • Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits.
  • Prepare and peer review of project-related technical reports.
  • Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues.
  • Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection Consulting.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Fire Protection Engineering or other professional designation in Fire Protection, is highly desirable (such as NICET Level IV in any of the Fire Protection certifications).
  • The ideal candidate will be a "Doer Seller," with client connections and ability to develop new business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspections.
  • Experience with project management or specific responsibilities for any portion of large complex projects is preferred.
  • Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges, and endeavor to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes.
