Pay Range:
$54,000 – $62,000 per year, depending on experience
Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day warehouse operations across our facilities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety in receiving, shipping, and inventory processes. This role supervises warehouse staff, serves as a key point of contact for customer questions about parts, manages warehouse supply ordering, and coordinates facility, grounds, and safety-related maintenance. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable balancing hands-on warehouse work with supervisory and vendor-management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Efficiency
• Supervise daily warehouse operations to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct and oversee cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Cross-train warehouse staff across roles to ensure operational coverage.
• Monitor and enforce warehouse safety practices and procedures.
• Ensure order-picking accuracy across all outgoing shipments.
• Manage and optimize warehouse space utilization.
• Build and maintain warehouse staff schedules.
• Assist as needed with receiving, shipping, and packing/boxing.
Customer Service
• Serve as the main point of contact for customer questions regarding parts, including dimensions, weight, color, materials, and how items are packed and shipped.
Product Data Support
• Pull parts as needed to support photography, weighing, and dimensioning for product listings.
Warehouse Supply Ordering
• Submit warehouse supply orders through Purchasing every Wednesday via the shared worksheet.
• Monitor inventory levels of warehouse supplies and reorder as needed.
• For items without an existing vendor, source a vendor and provide vendor and item information to the Purchasing Supervisor.
Safety – Fire Extinguisher Inspections
• Check all fire extinguishers across all 3 buildings on a recurring basis.
• Confirm pressure gauge is in the appropriate range, nozzles are free of debris, and tags are current.
• Date and initial each extinguisher after inspection.
Grounds Maintenance
• Coordinate with lawn care vendors between scheduled service as needed.
• Check the sprinkler system to confirm proper operation.
• Arrange for weed and pest spraying as needed.
• Contact and schedule vendors for additional grounds maintenance, obtaining Director approval when required.
Building Maintenance
• Field and triage general building maintenance requests.
• Delegate repairs that can be handled internally to the appropriate team member.
• For larger or more complex issues, source a vendor and obtain a quote for the work needed.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of warehouse experience, including 1+ years in a supervisory or lead role
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or logistics/supply chain coursework a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for inventory accuracy and safety compliance.
• Comfortable communicating directly with customers on product specifications and shipping questions.
• Experience coordinating with outside vendors (supplies, grounds, building maintenance) preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, ERP systems, warehouse or inventory software.
• Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain certification
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
• Pay range: $54,000–$62,000/year, based on experience (based on Elkhart, IN market data).
