We areย seekingย a talented and motivatedย Managerย withย significant experienceย in fuel systemย designย to join ourย Vehicle Engineeringย Practiceย inย Farmington Hills, MI.ย In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to lead and provideย engineeringย support on a wide range of projectsย including real world vehicle collisions and fires.ย This is an excellent opportunity for an experiencedย professionalย to partner with our senior staff and subject matter experts toย growย their consulting practice.ย ย ย 

You will be responsible for
  • Traveling to inspect crashed vehiclesย 
  • Analyzing the performance of vehicles in severe collisions and crash testingย 
  • Applyingย expertiseย inย fuelย system designย and automotive engineeringย toย addressย defect claims in an adversarial litigation environmentย 
  • Writingย complexย technicalย reportsย 
  • Building andย cultivatingย strong client relationshipsย ย 
  • Driving consulting business growth byย identifyingย new opportunities through project delivery, client engagement, and participation in professional developmentย activitiesย 
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver scientifically rigorous and impactful solutions to complex technical challengesย 
  • Supporting project planning and executionย

You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Ph.D. or M.S. degree inย Mechanical Engineering,ย Automotive Engineering,ย or related fieldย ย 
  • Minimum 5 years ofย industry or researchย experienceย in fuel system designย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesย 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusionsย 
  • A collaborative mindset and experience working in multidisciplinary teamsย 
  • Project management experience, including coordinating tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of technical projectsย 
  • A commitment to professional growthย 
  • Professional Engineering,ย Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, and/orย a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigatorย license is preferredย

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
