Job description

Extinguisher Technician
The primary focus of this role will be the organization, maintenance, and management of extinguisher shop items, with additional responsibility pertaining to external extinguisher service and deliveries. A take-home work vehicle is provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling contents
  • Replace worn or damaged parts, recharge extinguishers with approved materials
  • Hydrotesting/Hydrostatic Requalification of Fire Extinguisher Cylinders
  • Organization of shop area
  • Keeping track of inventory
  • Deliver material to inspectors in the field and also outside branches
  • Perform installation of fire extinguisher cabinets and portable fire extinguishers
  • Assist with extinguisher inspections
