Maintenance & Repairs/Fire Door Inspector

Location: New York| Field-Based | 100% Travel Required


Summary

We are hiring a Fire Door Inspector / Field Service Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair fireโ€‘rated and smoke doors in healthcare and commercial facilities nationwide. This role ensures compliance with NFPA 80, NFPA 105, and International Building Code (IBC) standards through accurate inspections, detailed reporting, and handsโ€‘on maintenance and repair work. This is a travelโ€‘intensive role where you are paid to work and travel, supporting lifeโ€‘safety compliance in critical environments.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Inspect fireโ€‘rated and smoke doors per NFPA 80 standards
  • Complete REMEDI8ยฎ Fire Door Inspection training per TMPโ€‘001 / ISO 17020:2012
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs to doors, frames, and hardware
  • Repair or replace locksets, latches, closers, strike plates, and related hardware
  • Correct door clearances through shimming and alignment
  • Fill holes in doors and frames and perform minor surface repairs
  • Clean, install, and adjust closers and hardware to resolve latching or closing issues
  • Develop action plans for door replacements with facility stakeholders
  • Document completed and incomplete repairs with accurate specifications
  • Read and follow Life Safety Plans (LSPs) while navigating facilities independently
  • Complete tabletโ€‘based inspection and repair reports
  • Follow infection control requirements in hospital environments
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and internal teams
