Job description

What to Expect Tesla has an outstanding opportunity available for a Paramedic to join the team at our GFNV Sparks, NV location. The Paramedic is expected to safely minimize losses associated with emergency response operations, coordinate fluid care with internal stakeholders and local fire department. The Paramedic is also responsible for prioritizing and completing tasks associated with non-emergency response activities such as emergency prevention, disaster planning, safety education, and on-shift training activities. This Paramedic role will also be fully responsible for response, patient stabilization and escort of all medical and/or incident response. This position directly reports to the Emergency Services Manager within the EHS department.
What You'll Do
  • Follows the Standard Operating Procedures outlined by Medical Oversight to align on response/medical standards of care
  • Accountable for any/all emergency preparedness procedure implementation. Aligning with the Fire Prevention and Response team for collaboration and streamlining response processes
  • Treat, triage and chart patients seen at the On-Site Medical Clinic. Communicate treatment path for occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Assist in emergency response drills and site wide evacuation plans with SME experts to ensure site wide safety implementation. Participate and occasionally lead after-action-reviews with security, ops, & fire teams as needed
  • Assist in drills, tabletop exercises, learning events, and after-action reviews following actual emergency events, as well as delivering and facilitating emergency response training for leaders
  • Attend training sessions (and host) as required by Tesla, read and understand assigned materials related to emergency medical care, and providing care in On-Site Medical
  • Performs general inspection, testing, and maintenance on life safety and emergency response equipment

What You'll Bring
  • Current Paramedic Certification
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS and ITLS or PHTLS) certification
  • 5+ years of experience as first responder Paramedic (911 rig experience - no transport only experience)
  • ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 (ICS 300 and 400 highly desired) as well as Incident Command System knowledge and experience, Hazardous Materials Operations level with decon preferred
  • Ability to in confined spaces, open to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays as well as work past scheduled end-of-shift with little or no notice
  • Ability to size-up complex emergency situations and employ appropriate medical response strategies and tactics to minimize losses, as well as communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to act in accordance with Tesla guidelines, as well as state and federal laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and statutes
