The Role:
As you finish your sophomore year, step forward into your future with SoFi's two-day immersive externship-an exclusive chance to explore the exciting world of fintech. Designed exclusively for rising juniors, this unique experience will connect you with SoFi's business, industry leaders, and fellow aspiring professionals.
Through the program, you'll engage in executive connection, learning and development, and networking. Plus, you'll receive comprehensive professional and educational experiences through job shadowing, career development, and a case study project and presentation.
The SoFi externship program is more than just an introduction to fintech-it's a chance to explore various key departments, participate in impactful programming, and build connections. Strengthen your resume, expand your network, and discover what's possible-all while having fun along the way!
The externship will be unpaid and held at the San Francisco HQ office on Tuesday, August 18th and Wednesday, August 19th. Travel will not be covered by SoFi and expenses will not be reimbursed.
What You'll Need:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree and entering your junior year, with an expected graduation date of Winter 2027 or Spring 2028
  • Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)
  • Applicants must be willing to attend the in-person event in San Francisco on Tuesday, August 18th and Wednesday, August 19th and acknowledge that travel, housing, and miscellaneous expenses will be your personal responsibility
  • Solid academic record with a GPA of 3.2 and above
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at the collegiate level, such as participation in campus clubs or societies
  • Interest in building a career in the financial services and fintech industry
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset and a willingness to take ownership of projects and deliverables
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for SoFi's mission of helping people achieve financial independence and realize their ambitions
  • SoFi will only consider candidates who are currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will not require work visa sponsorship now or in the future
