At Regions, the Cloud FinOps Analyst is responsible for optimizing cloud infrastructure costs, monitoring usage patterns, and implementing strategies to maximize efficiency. This position utilizes a deep understanding of cloud technologies, financial analysis, and cost management. Additionally, this position collaborates with cross-functional teams to align cloud spending with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with finance and technology teams to establish cloud budgets and forecasts
  • Develops and maintains financial models and forecasts to track cloud spending and cost-saving initiatives
  • Analyzes billing data and cloud usage metrics to identify trends and areas for optimization
  • Plays a key role in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize cloud costs
  • Creates reports and dashboards to track and communicate cloud cost optimization efforts to stakeholders
  • Provides guidance to engineering teams on implementation of optimization recommendations
  • Presents financial analysis to influence management decisions
  • Stays current on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to cloud cost management and FinOps practices
  • Prepares and maintains detailed and comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures to support and drive process improvements
  • Assists management with complex projects and/or initiatives
  • Offers guidance and advice to junior analysts
  • Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of financial analysis, management reporting, or related experience
  • Or High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of financial analysis, management reporting, or related experience
  • Certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Practitioner or ability to obtain within three (3) months in role

Preferences

  • Experience with cloud cost management tools and services
  • Experience in cloud optimization or in related roles within a cloud centric environment

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Advanced knowledge of financial statements
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong collaboration skills both within a team and across teams
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Understanding of cloud technologies, financial analysis, and cost management

This position is currently offsite, preferably close to a Regions office within our retail branch footprint (click here to see our locations). Associates will work from their home primarily and may be expected to go on site for meetings or other events as needed.

Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

50th Percentile:

$133,920.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This job may participate in an annual discretionary bonus plan.
