Job description

OBGYN Opportunity - Established Group Practice | Hartford, CT

A well-established, 8-physician OBGYN group in Hartford, CT is seeking an additional provider to join their team, as one of their senior physicians transitions to gyn-only.

The Position

  • Office schedule: 3 days per week

  • Call: 1x weekly (from home; no office coverage required while on call), with the following day off

  • Current call burden is shared among 6 providers, with a 1:7 call schedule once a new physician joins in August 2026 and 1:8 with this new addition

  • GYN-weighted practice with a robust GYN population; group averages 20-30 deliveries per month

  • Significant office GYN, MIGS, and robotic surgery volume, with blocked OR time averaging 3 days per month

  • Depending on the procedure, some providers schedule surgeries on their call day

Practice & Culture
This is a stable, family-oriented practice where work-life balance and flexibility are top priorities. The group is busy but not stressful - a well-designed schedule keeps the pace manageable, and the physicians genuinely enjoy working as a team. They're looking to add someone who is kind, pleasant, flexible, and collaborative.

Facilities & Hospital Affiliation
The group operates out of three fully equipped offices in Hartford, Avon, and Wethersfield, and admits to St. Francis Medical Center in Hartford - a facility with a Level III nursery and full in-house subspecialty services, including a residency program. The group has an excellent relationship with the hospital: the OB department chair regularly recommends graduating residents to the practice, and most hospital nursing staff are patients of the group. Succession planning is strong, with incoming physicians from the residency program already slated to start.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • Signing bonus

  • Generous vacation: 5 weeks to start, up to 8 weeks as partner.

The Hartford area offers fine dining and a robust arts community as well as easy access to many outdoor activities. There are great public and private schools, universities and trade schools. Located less than 2 hrs from the mountains and 1 hour from the coast, this opportunity is not to be missed.
