Job Title: Fine Arts Coordinator
Contract Days: 240, Contract Category R
The position is directly supervised and evaluated by the Superintendent.
The Fine Arts Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for all district fine arts programs, including band, choir, theater, and visual arts, while managing the operations and programming of the District's Center for the Arts. This position ensures high-quality instructional programs, supports staff development, and promotes student achievement through the arts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Music Education, Theater, Arts Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Arkansas teaching license preferred; administrative licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 5 years of successful experience in fine arts education, arts administration, event management, program coordination, communications, public relations, or other closely related career experience.
  • Experience managing fine arts programs, community events, performances, productions, or large-scale public events preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and program management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, community partners, and district leadership.
  • Successful experience in the use and management of social media, digital communications platforms, marketing, and public-facing communications.
  • Ability to engage in departmental strategic planning and work proactively to achieve district priorities.
  • Strong administrative skills, including supervision, budgeting, planning, organization, goal setting, and project management.

Fine Arts Program Leadership
  • Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for all district fine arts programs, including band, choir, theater, and visual arts
  • Ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices across campuses to promote high-quality, standards-based arts education
  • Advocate for equitable access to fine arts programs for all students and support increased student participation across all grade levels
  • Collaborate with campus administrators to ensure fine arts programs are effectively scheduled, staffed, and supported within the instructional day
  • Support and evaluate program effectiveness through the use of data, performance outcomes, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Promote the value of fine arts education as an essential component of student success, including academic growth, creativity, and school engagement
  • Lead long-term planning efforts for program growth, including expansion of course offerings, pathways, and extracurricular opportunities
  • Support recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality fine arts educators through coaching, collaboration, and professional learning opportunities
  • Ensure consistency in program expectations, performance standards, and student opportunities across all campuses
  • Work collaboratively with district leadership to align fine arts programs with district goals, initiatives, and strategic priorities
  • Advocate for resources, funding, and facilities necessary to sustain and grow high-quality fine arts programs

Center for the Arts Management
  • Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and use of the Center for the Arts
  • Coordinate approximately 150 170+ annual events, including school and community functions
  • Ensure proper supervision, safety, and maintenance of facilities and equipment
  • Manage logistics for performances, rehearsals, and external partnerships
  • Promote district events, performances, and initiatives through effective outreach

Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, higher education institutions, and arts organizations to support and enhance district fine arts programs
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the district's fine arts programs and the Center for the Arts, promoting student achievement and program excellence
  • Collaborate with district and building leaders to increase student participation and community involvement in fine arts programs and events
  • Coordinate outreach efforts that showcase student performances, exhibitions, and accomplishments to internal and external audiences
  • Foster positive relationships with families, community members, and stakeholders to build ongoing support for the arts
  • Support communication and promotion of fine arts programs and major district events through coordinated messaging and outreach efforts

Working Conditions:
