Financial Accountant
A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona's first fab will operate it's leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. Financial Accountant
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting routines, maintain financial data integrity, and support transactional processing across our ERP systems. In this role, you will play a key part in the period-end close process, prepare critical account reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting and audit compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate on special projects and process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and accuracy across the accounting department.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute Core Accounting Routines: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks, including processing journal entries, preparing reconciliations for various accounts (e.g., bank, intercompany, balance sheet), and analyzing transactional data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support Transactional Processing: Assist with the processing of financial transactions across different accounting functions, such as vendor invoices, customer payments, and fixed asset additions/disposals, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Financial Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within ERP systems and other accounting tools. This includes assisting with data entry, validation, and system updates to maintain reliable financial records.
  • Assist with Period-End Close: Contribute to the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing supporting schedules, performing reconciliations, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
  • Support Financial Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial data, documentation, and analysis to assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Support Audit & Compliance: Provide detailed financial data, documentation, and explanations to assist both internal and external auditors during financial reviews, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Special Projects & Process Improvement: Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects, process improvement initiatives, and system enhancements as assigned, aiming to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities across the accounting department.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with minimum 3 years of related accounting/cost accounting experience.

Technical Skills:
    • Good knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
    • Experience with major ERP systems (SAP preferred)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong focus on Excel

Interpersonal Skills:
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively with global/remote teams.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Primarily an office-based role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
    • Ability to use a computer, keyboard mouse and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and carry light objects.
    • 100% in office, no hybrid or remote opportunities.
