Overview of Position:

Manages and directly participates in the management of revenue cycle and financial/operational system projects, analysis, design, implementation, and coordinates activities and provides support throughout the entire system life cycle including project management, requirements definition, analysis, selection/acquisition, implementation, installation, training/education documentation, troubleshooting and technical support to ensure computer applications are designed, implemented, utilized, and managed to provide maximum benefits. Manages and directly supervises daily operations of the registration, scheduling, HIM, document imaging, hospital and ambulatory billing and other non-clinical departmental system teams. Determines work schedules, monitors performance, resolves technical and project issues and educates staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Plans and manages the day-to-day activities of teams including prioritization of team activities and meeting plans
2. Ensures integration of system configuration (coordinated design and build)
3. Prepare summary team status reports and reviews with Project Director.
4. Ensures completion as identified in the project plan.
5. Ability to assess risk impact to project.
6. Ensures high quality of deliverables as identified through the DBV and in conjunction with the Project Quality Control Team. These include: Activities of one team do not adversely impact activities of another team, changes are combined when appropriate to avoid duplicate effort, thorough testing to minimize problems at go live, and quality deliverables are prepared.
7. Manages identified issues by the project team and bring to resolution. Escalates issues which cannot be resolved.
8. Develops weekly status reports that address outstanding work, issues and risks to the Project Director.
9. Applies Epic experience and training to team tasks and deliverables.
10. Ensures team decisions are made in a timely fashion.
11. Follows communication process.
12. Promote new system to users.
13. Participate in regular Project Director meeting and participates as needed in Implementation Steering Team meetings
14. Promotes an atmosphere open to new ideas and constructive interpretation of events and changes.
15. Quickly and easily adapts to and supports change in technology and the industry.
16. Utilizes best practice project management techniques and methodologies.
17. Remains current on information technology, principles, concepts, practices, and technologies.
18. Coordinates all activities within delivery services and other divisions to provide a seamless set of services to the clients.
19. Coordinates close relationships with clients to assist with the identification of needs and requirements.
20. Provides technical leadership to IS and the enterprise including being conversant with the future direction of information systems, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how current and future systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise.
21. Engages and participates in the investigation, evaluation, consulting, systems analysis, design and management of the systems and system projects.
22. Independently manages, the development of project requirements, timelines, detailed specifications, work plans and resources.
23. Coordinates the analysis of current business functions and processes to be automated and formulates a plan for automation
24. Provides proactive and effective project management services for all aspects of the project lifecycle.
25. Provides guidance, direction and management for process improvement and transformation initiatives.
26. Manages the implementation and development of components of enterprise-wide integrated information systems while providing guidance and direction to the client base.
27. Supports the development and maintenance of a long-range information system strategic and operational plan.
28. Remains current on all installed and available application software and maximizes the utilization of this software.
29. Establishes project quality standards/measures, proactively monitors the standards/measures and modifies them as appropriate.
30. Collaborates with project managers and other project management staff to provide integrated project management services.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in information systems or related field or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum 4 years project management experience.
3. Skilled in Microsoft Office products including MS Project.
4. Five years of information systems experience and a minimum of three years of healthcare revenue cycle, financial and operational systems and enterprise systems experience.
5. Strong personnel management, project management, information systems project skills and technology management experience.
6. Strong oral/written communication skills and customer service skills.
7. Experience with managing large and small system selection, system acquisition, system implementation projects.
8. Experience with concepts and project and resource management for system acquisition, system design, system implementation, system development and system maintenance.
9. Experience with process re-design and process re-engineering methodologies and techniques.
