Technical Sales Engineer (Solutions Engineer)

Methodic

San Francisco, CA • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 15 days ago

Job description

Job Summary:
Methodic is a company seeking a Technical Sales Engineer (Solutions Engineer) to support their sales team in demonstrating their platform's capabilities to prospective clients. The role involves delivering customized product demonstrations, answering technical inquiries, and creating technical content to facilitate the sales process.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with sales representatives to support discovery calls and meetings, where you’ll help ask the right technical questions to uncover a prospect’s needs and challenges.
• Deliver customized product demonstrations that show how Methodic would work for a prospect’s specific use case (for example, simulating how our API integrates with their existing app or how our platform handles a certain financial workflow they care about).
• Answer detailed technical inquiries from prospective clients, which could range from security and compliance questions (like “How do you handle data encryption or GDPR?”) to integration and scalability questions (“Can your system handle X transactions per second and how would it connect to our core banking system?”).
• Create technical content to aid the sales process, such as architecture diagrams, integration guides, or sample code, to illustrate how a potential client would implement and use Methodic.
• Work with our product and engineering teams to get answers for unusual requirements or to scope out potential product customizations that a large client might request. Provide feedback to those teams about what prospects are asking for, to inform our roadmap.
• Assist in responding to RFPs or security questionnaires by providing detailed, accurate technical answers about the platform.
• Occasionally, attend industry events or conferences as the technical representative of Methodic, talking to potential customers and partners about what our platform can do.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in a technical role such as software engineering, solutions engineering, or sales engineering, with exposure to enterprise software sales cycles.
• Strong understanding of web application architecture and APIs; ability to quickly grasp how Methodic's platform works under the hood (experience with C#/.NET environments is a plus since our platform is built on that stack).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and persuasive manner.
• A knack for problem-solving and improvisation – you can think on your feet when a prospect throws a curveball question or has a unique use case.
• Ability to write and understand code well enough to create sample scripts or pseudo-code (doesn’t have to be production-level, but should convincingly demonstrate integrations or customizations).
• Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person meetings or conferences, as required (likely a smaller part of the role, but flexibility is appreciated).
Preferred:
• Experience with fintech or financial software is highly desirable, or at least a strong interest in the space and willingness to learn about financial workflows, compliance, and systems integration in this domain.
Company:
Methodic is a software company that develops investment systems. Founded in 2018, the company is headquartered in Surry Hills, AUS, with a team of 11-50 employees. The company is currently Early Stage.
