Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Midstream FP&A, the Senior Analyst, Midstream FP&A is a member of a team of professionals responsible for gathering, creating, and analyzing strategic and financial business information for the Midstream business segment. The Senior Analyst, Midstream FP&A, will work actively with Finance team, operations and commercial leaders to generate high quality financial budgets, forecasts, and other analytics to enhance the financial decision making of Midstream activities at AltaGas.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support Midstream leadership through precise, timely and meaningful business analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic partner across finance, operations, commercial, and corporate teams at all organizational levels.
  • Align with Asset Teams to coordinate, prepare and present the Midstream annual budget and periodic outlooks.
  • Drive timely, accurate variance analysis and KPI reporting, translating financial data into meaningful insights for business stakeholders.
  • Identify and lead projects aimed at optimizing information quality and delivery speed through technological innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in transition to the next generation of AI-enhanced cloud planning applications at AltaGas.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in planning and forecasting, ideally in a Midstream business.
  • Experience in the Microsoft Power Platform, advanced excel skills (pivot table analysis).
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities and abilities to manage and oversee complex financial models.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, work under pressure with minimal guidance and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confident, detail orientated and enthusiastic team player with superior interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstration of interest in leveraging new technology to optimize processes and access to data in areas such as accounting, finance, and FP&A. Experience and/or exposure to planning software and/or cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools a plus.
  • Strive to develop and implement ongoing planning process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Complete special project ad-hoc analysis as required.

Education

  • A degree in business management/commerce or equivalent professional experience
  • Accounting or Finance designation such as CPA, CFA or equivalent

Work Experience

  • 7 or more years of experience including 3 or more years in FP&A and leadership roles
