Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporationโ€™s Calgaryโ€™s office is actively hiring for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join the team.  This position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting in the Accounting & Corporate Controller team, part of Pembinaโ€™s Financial Services division.  

This teamโ€ฏprovides financial reporting and accounting leadership across Pembina andโ€ฏis responsible forโ€ฏthe preparation and compilation of Pembina'sโ€ฏconsolidatedโ€ฏfinancial statements, notes, MD&A, and operational highlights. The team is also responsible forโ€ฏestablishingโ€ฏand ensuring adherence to accounting policies, review and analysisโ€ฏof new accounting standards and interpretations, accounting for capital assets, legal entity reporting andโ€ฏregulatory compliance andโ€ฏmaintainingโ€ฏSAP FI/CO data integrity.โ€ฏ 

As the Financial Reporting Accountant, you are responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. 

Responsibilities:
  • Support Pembinaโ€™s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the โ€œLife Saving Rulesโ€. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety; 
  • Perform various duties in support of both internal monthly scorecard reporting and quarterly external financial reporting;  
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with financial reporting systems and tools, including SAP, BPC, Analysis for Office, and Workiva;  
  • Support in preparation and delivery of monthly internal reporting package with specific focus on preparing the balance sheet and cash flow statements;  
  • Support the quarterly management discussion and analysis and financial statement process including but not limited to, preparing supplemental reports, gathering data, and performing tie-outs;  
  • Preparation of additional reporting requirements, for example Statistics Canada requests; 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across Accounting and Financial teams, collaborating with key stakeholders to support financial reporting, analysis, and business objectives; 
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Business Units; and  
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance along with a CPA accounting designation; 
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to quarter-end and year-end financial reporting processes;  
  • Experience supporting external audit engagements within a public accounting environment is considered an asset;  
  • Experience working with accounting and financial reporting systems, including SAP; familiarity with BPC or similar consolidation tools is considered an asset;  
  • Ability to identify key IFRS financial reporting issues through the application of accounting and operational knowledge;  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hardworking environment where successful employees are comfortable embracing change as a standard;  
  • Detail-oriented and analytical professional with the ability to learn quickly, manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; and  
  • Possesses strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and deliver results in a dynamic environment. 

Pembinaโ€™s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays
