Job description

This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals interested in financial analysis, real estate investment, and business operations. The Financial Analyst will gain hands-on exposure to financial modeling, forecasting, investment underwriting, and reporting while supporting multiple business divisions across the company.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving, has strong Excel skills, and is interested in building a long-term career in finance and real estate.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Fairfax office every Tuesday, and our Broadlands office every Wednesday. Additional in person work may be required according to business needs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting across multiple business divisions including New Homes, Land, and Investment Properties
  • Support investment underwriting and financial analysis for development, acquisition, and operational projects
  • Prepare and maintain Excel-based financial models and reporting tools
  • Analyze financial performance, project results, and market trends to support business decision-making
  • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities and preparing supporting materials for leadership review
  • Conduct variance analysis and compare actual performance against forecasts and budgets
  • Review financial and operational information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support preparation of presentations and financial reports for senior leadership
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to gather information and support financial planning initiatives
  • Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required
  • Previous internship, co-op, or campus leadership experience in finance, banking, real estate, or related fields preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of financial statements, financial analysis, and accounting concepts
  • Interest in financial modeling, investment analysis, and real estate finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment
  • Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to financial modeling through coursework, internships, or student projects
  • Interest in real estate development, investments, or corporate finance
  • Experience using Excel for financial analysis, reporting, or forecasting
