Job description

The Financial Analyst must be able to commute to the office in Alexandria VA. This is a hybrid position. Financial Analyst supports the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function through financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and financial modeling. This role partners with management and cross-functional teams to drive performance, support key initiatives, and provide actionable insights. The Financial Analyst applies strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts and statements to support the goals of the Accounting and Finance departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to drive operational performance and informed decision-making.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret financial data using various reporting tools.
  • Provide financial planning, analysis, and recommendations to senior management to support strategic objectives and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with the monthly close process, including variance analysis and preparation of reporting packages.
  • Review accounts and financial reports to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Identify trends and key drivers of business performance and communicate insights to leadership.
  • Analyze financial and operational data using reporting, visualization, and business intelligence tools.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Continuously enhance reporting processes, dashboards, and analytical tools through automation and process improvements.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to establish and refine performance metrics.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting, FP&A, or a related financial role
  • Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong business math and quantitative skills
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights

Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with financial consolidation tools (e.g., Planful) preferred
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools preferred
