Job description

Anderson University's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships invites applications for a full-time position as Counselor. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, Liberal Arts University affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The University seeks applicants who are committed to our mission, lifestyle, and the integration of faith and learning.
The Financial Aid Counselor supports the daily operations of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships while providing exceptional customer service to students and families. This position provides individualized counseling to students on all aspects of financial aid, including satisfactory academic progress for federal aid, state scholarship eligibility, renewal and enhancement requirements, and professional judgment considerations. Additional tasks includehandling intake and follow-up with students and parents on items needed and/or incomplete and assisting with completion of verification of student ISIR data as required.
Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor's degree and previous experience in financial aid, student services, or related field is required. Proven knowledge of federal aid process and regulations, including the ability to perform basic mathematical skills and operations using American currency, and the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or group settings is required. Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and familiarity Workday, Department of Education or similar systems is desired. Strong oral and written communication skills, exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail combined with strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to analyze and solve problems related to financial aid is required.
