Position Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial leadership and performance of our ready-to-eat food manufacturing operation in Easley, SC. This position combines Finance Manager and Plant Controller responsibilities, serving as a strategic business partner to the Chief Executive officer and site leadership team.


The Finance Manager will provide financial insight to drive profitability, improve manufacturing performance, strengthen financial controls, and support business growth. This is a hands-on role that connects financial results with day-to-day manufacturing operations.


Main Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and management presentations.
  • Partner with the General Manager and Operations leadership on financial and strategic decisions.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, waste, yield, and production efficiency.
  • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Support inventory management, inventory accuracy, working capital, and cost controls.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures, investments, and business cases.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and other functions to improve business performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop finance team members as applicable.
  • Collaborate with corporate finance and other Signature Foods facilities to standardize processes and share best practices.
  • Support month-end close, audits, compliance, and other financial activities as required. 


Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field required.


Level of Experience Required:

5 - 10 years

  • 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Food manufacturing, CPG, or FMCG experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory, and financial analysis preferred.
  • Prior experience partnering with Operations and leading or developing finance team members is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/financial reporting systems.

Physical Requirements: This position is primarily office-based but requires regular presence in the manufacturing facility. The employee must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods and regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and navigate production and warehouse areas.

Environmental Requirements: This role may involve exposure to food manufacturing equipment, production noise, food odors, temperature-controlled areas, wet floors, cleaning and sanitation activities, and moving industrial equipment. Required PPE must be worn in designated areas.

Mental & Cognitive Requirements: This position requires the ability to analyze complex financial and operational information, solve problems, make sound business decisions, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, maintain attention to detail, communicate effectively with financial and non-financial employees, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information.


Work Environment and Schedule

This position works in a food manufacturing facility and may require flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, or off-shift coverage to support production needs. Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required for month-end close, inventories, audits, or other business needs.
