JOB SUMMARY

The Wellness Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, financial performance, and guest experience of The Spa at Estate Yountville. This role ensures exceptional service standards while driving innovation in wellness experiences that enhance the resort's luxury positioning.

The Wellness Manager oversees spa operations, retail, fitness and wellness initiatives, team development, guest satisfaction, and financial performance. Working collaboratively with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, and Guest Experience, this leader will continuously identify opportunities to elevate the wellness offering, create memorable guest experiences, and position Estate Yountville as a premier wellness destination in Napa Valley.


Essential Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead, inspire, and develop the Spa & Wellness team through coaching, training, accountability, and recognition.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, schedule, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and one-on-one meetings.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, kindness, continuous improvement, and Forbes-level service.


Guest Experience

  • Ensure every guest receives a personalized, luxury wellness experience.
  • Maintain Forbes Travel Guide service standards throughout the spa and wellness operation.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and service recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvements.
  • Create memorable experiences that encourage guest loyalty and repeat visitation.


Spa Operations

  • Oversee the daily operation of The Spa at Estate Yountville.
  • Ensure treatment rooms, locker rooms, relaxation areas, and wellness facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Manage scheduling, staffing levels, payroll, and productivity.
  • Maintain inventory of retail, professional products, linens, and operating supplies.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.


Wellness Programming

  • Develop, implement, and oversee wellness experiences and initiatives that enhance the overall guest journey and support the resort's luxury positioning.
  • Continuously evaluate industry trends and identify opportunities to introduce new wellness offerings and experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to create engaging wellness experiences throughout the year.
  • Support the development of seasonal programs, special events, and wellness-focused activations that increase guest engagement and generate incremental revenue.
  • Ensure all wellness offerings reflect the resort's luxury standards and deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the resort's wellness portfolio while maintaining operational excellence and profitability.


Financial Management

  • Achieve departmental revenue and profitability goals.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Monitor labor costs and productivity.
  • Manage operating expenses and purchasing.

Retail Management

  • Oversee all retail operations within the spa.
  • Curate product offerings that align with the resort's luxury brand.
  • Ensure retail displays and merchandising remain visually appealing.
  • Train team members on product knowledge and consultative selling techniques.
  • Monitor inventory levels and retail performance.


Sales & Business Development

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to increase spa and wellness revenue.
  • Develop strategies to attract resort guests, local clientele, group business, and special events.
  • Build relationships with community partners and wellness providers that enhance the resort's offerings.
  • Support promotional campaigns, seasonal packages, and wellness experiences that drive occupancy and guest engagement.


Collaboration

  • Work closely with Guest Experience, Front Office, Housekeeping, Culinary, and Sales to ensure a seamless guest journey.
  • Support VIP arrivals, group events, weddings, and resort activations with wellness offerings.
  • Participate in resort leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Promote a collaborative culture across all departments.


Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum three years of leadership experience in a luxury spa, wellness, hospitality, or resort environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor, scheduling, and financial performance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred
