Job description

WOW! Smiles Orthodontics/Bernstein Orthodontics is on the lookout for our next superstar Financial Coordinator! If you're up for a rewarding role that blends your financial and insurance expertise with your passion for helping people, then we want to connect with you! In general, this position will perform accounts receivable and collection tasks. Some of the details include:
  • Answer patient contract questions
  • Sending communications to delinquent either electronically or by phone
  • Post payments
  • Collect delinquent accounts
  • Process refunds through our merchant site
  • Monitor account delinquencies daily

Exceptional work ethics, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail are characteristics of our ideal candidate. The ability to work well with everyone is a key element of this position as it is a positive attitude. In addition, this person must be trustworthy, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to problem solve and manage time effectively. Candidate must be proficient with reading and understanding patient ledgers. Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience with dental, orthodontic billing and collections. Experience with dental insurance is a plus!

Requirements
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds (a box of copy paper or a bottle of the water for the cooler)
  • Required ability to sit up to 6-8 hours per day with intermittent walking, standing or bending
  • Vision: working 6-8 hours per day viewing a computer monitor, working on accounts, reading emails
  • Hearing: Able to satisfactorily communicate by telephone with patients, doctors, and other staff members within HQ to ensure verbal communication is clearly understood, or a satisfactory-equivalent method of communication
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard
