Job description

Overview

Chief Financial Officer role at Centri. Centri Business Consulting provides advisory services in financial reporting, internal controls, technical accounting, valuation, M&A, tax, CFO and HR advisory services.

As Centri continues its rapid expansionโ€”including through targeted acquisitionsโ€”the CFO will play a key role in driving financial strategy, supporting M&A execution, and building a scalable infrastructure for sustained growth. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, reporting to the CEO, and will oversee the Finance function within the Firm. Primary day-to-day responsibilities include planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial activities of the Firm including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and treasury.

Core Responsibilities
  • Build, develop and lead a strong Finance department. Ensure efficient day-to-day operation of accounting and finance functions through direct supervision and goal setting.
  • Serve as a key business partner and contributor to growth strategies, business development programs and long-range planning. Prepare analyses in support of major business decisions.
  • Maintain standardized financial management policies and procedures; evaluate internal controls and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Partner with the CEO, executive team and Head of Corporate Development to evaluate and pursue strategic acquisition opportunities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, post-close integration and advising on capital strategy and financing alternatives.
  • Develop operating policies and procedures and improvement programs to achieve business objectives.
  • Build and maintain banking relationships; coordinate cash accounts reconciliation and provide investment oversight including cash management.
  • Direct the annual budget process; oversee financial health of the Firm and provide guidance on budgetary controls, costs, pricing and cost estimation.
  • Provide strategic fiscal planning to inform future decisions and expansion.
  • Present financial, legal and other operational items to executive management and the Firm Advisory Board.
  • Collaborate with CHRO to review employee benefit plans and renewal analyses.
  • Oversee agreements, contracts and engagement letters with respect to legal requirements, risk identification, and coordination with outside counsel as appropriate.
  • Coordinate filing of income and other tax returns; maintain accounting records in compliance with statutory requirements; oversee preparation of annual K-1 schedules and coordinate with external auditors and HR for benefit plan audits.
  • Partner with CEO and executive team to evaluate growth strategies, including finance structures, M&A opportunities, and capital financing options.
Qualifications
  • BS in Accounting, Finance or Business (expected).
  • CPA certification or MBA degree is required.
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 10 years in an executive role.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the professional services industry.
  • M&A and capital financing experience preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP is valued.
  • Experience overseeing a multi-office environment preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong emphasis on procedure, process and operational excellence.
  • Excellent presentation skills with strong executive presence and public speaking ability.
  • Strong external professional network.
  • Ability to write accurately and succinctly.
