Job purpose

Financial Coordinators are responsible for verifying patient health insurance benefits, communicating with patients, and processing insurance payments.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare and present clear and reliable treatment plans for patients
  • Reconcile invoices, identify discrepancies, and check reports for accuracy
  • Document clear and reliable billing activity in internal databases and reporting software(s)
  • Receive and sort incoming payments with attention to accuracy and timeline
  • Manage the status of accounts and balances; strong ability to identify inconsistencies
  • Issue and post bills, receipts and invoices
  • Check the validity of debit accounts
  • Update accounts receivable database with new accounts or missed payments

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • College degree (preferred)

Working conditions

Dental practices run at a fast pace and financial coordinators will be required to keep up with the flow of doctors and patients.

Physical requirements

Schedulers will be required to:

  • Sit for long periods of time
  • Look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
